The Shed with QCBA

The Shed challenges listeners with an ever-changing list of performers that the minds behind Smitty’s have curated to entertain and enlighten. You may think that going to see a classical accordionist or Indian Sarod player is out of your comfort zone, but trust that the Smitty’s team won’t lead you astray. The Shed is always forward thinking, but most importantly, always good.

QCBA is the brainchild of trumpeter Quentin Collins and saxophonist Brandon Allen. They are an organ driven quartet of virtuosos playing sassy, original music that gives contemporary flavour to the Blue Note era of the 1960’s.

In 2011 they released their debut album ‘What’s It Gonna Be?’ to high acclaim, followed by a 35 date UK & European tour. This intense touring developed the eclectic sound evident on their second album ‘Beauty in Quiet Places’, which brings together a melting pot of Jazz, Brazilian and Funk with Blues & Soul Magazine calling it “so damn infectious, it's almost impossible to resist!”

Doors 7pm, music from 8.30pm
