Malcolm Earle-smith is a multi-faceted jazz musician, not only widely respected in the fields of classic jazz and swing, but also a very accomplished improviser in bop and more contemporary idioms. His performing career as a trombonist and vocalist spans from early jazz to contemporary jazz styles. He has worked with many artists including Digby Fairweather, Jack Parnell, John Dankworth, Henry Lowther, Andrea Vicary and Martin Speake. He has also worked with soul artists Martha Reeves and Ronnie Spector, has recorded and toured extensively with Bryan Ferry and appears on Ferry’s album, ‘As Time Goes By’.
For this show, Malcolm will be leading a quintet featuring Leo Richardson (saxophone), Chris Eldred (piano), Conor Chaplin (bass) and Douglas Marinner (drums).
