Wind Up with Emma Frank & Roselien Tobbackx

Emma Frank has a sound that intertwines folk, R&B, and even jazz, with shifting tempos and winding melodies that are poignant, propelling and all-engulfing. On her fourth album, Come Back, released on September 6 via Justin Time/Nettwerk, Emma plays with ideas of love, lust, self-doubt, commitment and sadness to relinquish the most intimate corners of her mind with her listeners. Emma’s songs are journeys of self-discovery, framed by insightful lyrics and her warm, gossamer voice that songwriter Leif Vollebekk described as "like leather on silk." Emma Frank has performed at Festival International de Jazz de Montreal, NXNE, Pop Montreal, the Toronto Jazz Festival, Ottawa Winter Jazz Festival, and performs regularly in New York City. For this gig, Emma will be performing with Dominic Mekky (Keys), Pedro Barquinha (Drums) and Franky Rousseau (Guitar).

Roselien Tobbackx is a promising, young artist who combines influences drawn from jazz, soul, rnb and electronic music. Her first EP ‘Truth’ came to the attention of Meshell Ndegeocello, Reggie Watts, Lefto and Erica McKoy from Worldwide Fm. This led to some great live opportunities which included opening multiple times for Meshell Ndegeocello, Gregory Porter and Gabriel Garzon Montano. Originally from Belgium she recently re-located to South-London. On this evening Roselien will enchant you as a solo artist with an electric guitar, loopstation and marvellous voice. Not to be missed.
